Wally B. Seck and Raam Daan Band

Wally Ballago Seck is a Senegalese singer born onApril 27, 1985in Dakar ( Senegal ). Nicknamed the people's singer, he is the lead vocalist of the group Raam Daan  and boss of Faramareen Music. He is the son of singer Thione Seck . Wally B. Seck is now referred to the Prince of African Pop Music, meaning next to Youssou Ndour the king of African Pop Music.

Wally is referred to as a world class-performing artist, with an amazing skill in captivating the attention of his fans on stage. He is well known as an artist who always interacts with his fans on stage.

He has a huge fan base around the world and he is ranked as one of the biggest and most famous singers from Senegal and Africa at large. His songs are always street anthems. Fans of all generations memorizes his lyrics and chant along with him while performing on stage.

His first musical project entitled Bo - Dioudo was released in 2007. In 2019, he signed with the major French record label Believe
Coming from a griot family , Wally Seck grew up in the Senegalese capital . In his youth, he found a passion for football and dreamed of a professional career in the field. He even played in La Primevera .

However, his career struggling to take off, he returned to Senegal to concentrate on his musical career. He began his career with the single Bo - Dioudo in 2007 which was a success in Senegal and in the diaspora .

Musical career  

After the success of his first single Bo - Dioudo , Wally came back in force with the album Voglio in 2009 composed of 7 tracks. In 2011, he was named in the top 5 artists at the Sunu Music Awards  [ archive ] . A year later, he released his second album entitled Louné and began hosting the evenings at Penc-Mi , a famous  night club in the capital owned by his father . In 2014, he filled the Zénith de Paris and received the title of Man of the Year awarded by OMART  [ archive ] (Observatory of Music and Arts). His third album entitled Xél was released in 2015. It was then that his international tour began with major acts such as Paris Bercy inJune 2016. In 2018, he released his fourth album titled Symphonie .

The Senegalese superstar released two EPs in 2020 named Afromix and Afromix 2, both composed of 4 tracks. The idea is to combine the famous Mbalax with Afro-Pop to be consumed internationally. In 2021 , he released another EP title "Xippil Xoll" which means open and see. This EP consists of 5 tracks which is well appreciated by the Senegalese and Gambian population between it comes in a difficult period where young people are undertaking the risky maritime journey to Europe . He advocates in his song title "Yoon wi", which means that the dangerous journey is not worth it and is wacky because he has claimed many lives of the youth. Basically, the EP "Xippil Xoll" is very educational and entertaining. The remaining four tracks on the EP are "Waxtaan wi" which means dialogue, "Environment", "Bulko Tek Miser" a song he remixes and owns by iconic Senegalese musician and legend Youssou N'Dour , the remix " Mbarodi" by his father Thione Seck who is also an emblematic Senegalese musician . This is very appreciated by Senegambians because it pays homage to these two icons of Senegalese music. As of 2021, Wally Seck has started working on his first international album which will be released onOctober 6, 2023in collaboration with international artists.

December 19, 2022, he released a new album “mbalax” entitled “Etat d’esprit” which is the most listened to “mbalax” album on streaming platforms since its release.

Wally Ballago Seck has collaborated with several recognized artists such as Sidiki Diabate , Mokobe , Claire Bailly , Wizkid , Davido , Vegedream , Eddy Kenzo , Diamond Platnumz Wizkid , Jason Derulo and Chris Brown

Wally Seck is well known for his Mbalax music, but recently he has developed his music to a broader audience. His new music is a mixture of contemporal African music with a mixture of modern European music, which is later faded by the rich Malian music, more precisely the tone of the Malian guitar. This permits him to share stages with world-renowned stars and tagged as one of the biggest artists from his country, Senegal, just like Youssou Ndour. Wally is now focusing on an international career and released an international album " I WANNA BE FREE", which was released late 2023.

Philanthropist

The Senegalese musician is well known for the charity actions he organizes for his own people in Senegal and Gambia . He has helped many needy and sick people, offering the products from his latest album to the residents of the SOS Children's Village [ 1 ] . The album is made up of 9 tracks and is called “Apéro”, live 2017, with well-known songs, which were covered all in mbalax.
