Rogê

RogêRoger José Cury, is the man who breathes new life into vintage Brazilian pop music and is a central figure in the music scene in Rio. Rogê is a samba idol in the clubs of Rio and has had a regular residency at the Carioca da Gema club, where the audience dances to the rhythm of his samba-funk and samba-soul.

"The samba star from Rio reaches an international audience with his funky and genre-breaking music" - THE GUARDIAN

Rogê has many exciting accomplishments to his name, including creating the theme song for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil and being nominated for a Latin Grammy for his work with samba guru Arlindo Cruz.

After moving to LA, he gained many new and exciting collaborators, resulting in the album "Curyman" (2023), a joyful and festive samba album which the artist himself describes as made so "we don't give up and become sad and lazy, losing the courage to move forward in life. It ensures us that a new day will always come."

"11 songs that take you through the entire samba lexicon, from the gentle expression, to the funk, to the yearning, centered around hope and our connection to nature and divinity" - THE GUARDIAN

"With emotional string arrangements by Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, filled with samba-funk and heart-wrenching ballads, Curyman is an album that transcends language" - GRAMMY AWARDS

One of Rogê's trademarks from his hot sets in the club world is when he energetically shouts "saúde!" between songs - a Portuguese word that means "to health!"
